THE CARBON CYCLE:
First thing's first, what is carbon? Carbon is the most sufficient element found in the Earth's crust. From the Latin word "carbo" which means coal. It is found on many things here on Earth, there is carbon in air, land and even in water.
Now, what is Carbon Cycle, as the name implies, it is the process where carbon is connected to the living things here on Earth.
The process of Carbon Cycle are as follows:
- the plants takes carbon from the atmosphere together with sunlight to make food through the process called photosynthesis.
- then the plants will be eaten by herbivorous animals and also to humans when they eat the animals; then the carbon will be transferred from the plants to the humans and animals.
- when the a living thing dies, their body will decay, and when the decayed bodies were buried; after so many years it will become fossil fuels.
- the carbon emitted by burning of fossil fuels from factories can be transferred to the atmosphere and even in the body of water.
The carbon cycle that we have maintains the carbon level in our environment so having the knowledge of this, we humans must have the initiative to take good care of our environment, plant more trees because they will lessen the amount of CO2 present here on Earth.
