Basura o kalikasan?

Basura?

SIARGAO ISLAND:
Siargao island, a paradise place found in the islands of the Philippines in Surigao Del Norte. Siargao Island is known to be the surfing capital of the Philippines for the thick and hollow tubes of wave known as "cloud 9" that invites the surfers into it. It is very accessible through air or through sea transportation only by riding on a ferry boat which will drop you in Dapa, the main sea port. Tourists nowadays finds the beauty of this paradise very fascinating and it can only be found here in the Philippines.

This paradise soon may be destroyed due to climate change because of illegal activities of human beings and also because of growing and improving infrastructure developments. That is why, we must protect and take good care of this paradise given by our Lord God. We should care and appreciate these kind of gifts if we still want to enjoy the beauty of this kind of place and also for the next generations that will come.

THE CARBON CYCLE:

First thing's first, what is carbon? Carbon is the most sufficient element found in the Earth's crust. From the Latin word "carbo" which means coal. It is found on many things here on Earth, there is carbon in air, land and even in water.

Now, what is Carbon Cycle, as the name implies, it is the process where carbon is connected to the living things here on Earth.

The process of Carbon Cycle are as follows:
- the plants takes carbon from the atmosphere together with sunlight to make food through the process called photosynthesis.
- then the plants will be eaten by herbivorous animals and also to humans when they eat the animals; then the carbon will be transferred from the plants to the humans and animals.
- when the a living thing dies, their body will decay, and when the decayed bodies were buried; after so many years it will become fossil fuels.
- the carbon emitted by burning of fossil fuels from factories can be transferred to the atmosphere and even in the body of water.

The carbon cycle that we have maintains the carbon level in our environment so having the knowledge of this, we humans must have the initiative to take good care of our environment, plant more trees because they will lessen the amount of CO2 present here on Earth.

Eco Footprint

Eco Footprint Analysis

According to WWF.org, eco foot print is the measure of the impact of humans on the environment. And while doing this, i realize that we should be responsible enough for the beautification and preservation of our environment. 'Coz if we don't take good care of it, the future generations will suffer for our misbehavior in the environment. We should not waste what Lord God has given us, the water, the land, and everything that we see in our surrounding.

As i reflect on my drawing, i was shocked of my result, i consume almost 2 hectares. I realize that i must not waste and i must give importance on the things provided by Mother Earth. Stop wasting the supplies and the products that the Earth provides for us, 'coz without it, we are all dead.

With the help of my mom, we attain of this idea regarding the cause of flooding or the "why's" of flooding. In the end, the effects are really devastating, if only we can change our bad practices toward the environment.
